Overview

Bakul DimSum, The Five, nestled in the vibrant enclave of Bukit Damansara at The Five @ KPD, presents a fresh take on fusion dining with a focused dim sum offering that stands out in Kuala Lumpur’s culinary scene. This pork-free establishment caters especially well to diners seeking quality and uniqueness in their dim sum experience without compromising on flavors or authenticity.

The restaurant thrives on its signature dishes like the Siew Mai, known for its delicate balance and generous fillings, and the Kam Heong Fried Rice, which offers a rich, aromatic complexity that lingers with each bite. The Satay Pao delivers a creative twist on traditional street flavors, encapsulating the spirit of fusion cuisine in a neat, steamed bun. Complementing these mains is the Fragrant Pear Elixir—a refreshing, subtly sweet beverage that cleanses the palate and rounds off the meal gracefully.

Visitors frequently commend the attentive and warm service, which enhances the overall dining atmosphere. While the setting is cozy and well-kept, the popularity of the dim sum means weekday lunch crowds can make seating a challenge, so reservations are advisable. The menu’s limited but carefully curated options reflect the chef’s dedication to mastering each dish rather than overwhelming patrons with an extensive selection.

Beyond the food, the ambiance is calm and tidy, creating a reflective dining space that suits intimate meals or casual brunch gatherings with friends. The team’s friendliness and willingness to accommodate special requests—such as thoughtful ingredient portions—showcase their commitment to customer satisfaction.

Bakul DimSum, The Five, is ideal for those who appreciate a refined, pork-free dim sum alternative within Kuala Lumpur. Its blend of traditional techniques and innovative fusion elements, paired with a clean and peaceful environment, makes it a destination worth exploring for anyone looking to enjoy quality dim sum with a modern twist.

Restaurant is crowded on a week day when we walked in but we managed to get a table. Reservations is recommended. The food here is pretty good, pork free. There isnt a lot of pork free dim sum in town. All the items that we ordered were good. The service and staff is also good and they are friendly. The prawn noodles seems to be really popular here. Overall a good dining experience.

Yummy dim sum with a refined dining experience, with good value for money!! This 5 star review comes unprompted - we had such a great time having brunch here! (although we later found out that it comes with a reward too!! So it’s a win-win ) The Har Gao, Siew Mai, Szechuan Dumplings, Avocado Fritter, and Beetroot Buns were all super good. Service staff were very attentive as well. Great dining experience

Some say expensive restaurant. But I love the food quality, the service, the uniqueness of menu. It worth the visit and price. I hv been to here for few times time for lunch dimsum, not once disappointed. The dimsum was tip top quality. This time we tried the sang har noodle, perfecto. What's best was the thoughtful chef made us 1.5 prawn because there were 3 of us. We completed the cause with a healthy dessert. Obviously the ladies loved it. Although the menu looks limited but it's good enough for selection. Perhaps that made the chef to really master and cook better over time each dish on the menu

Visited around 4 PM, the staff were really helpful and welcoming me and my partner. The restaurant was clean, neat and peaceful. The menu was limited but to me, it was just nice. We ordered steamed and fried dim sum among other dishes. The food was amazing, the taste was well-balanced with hints of sourness and sweetness in the dim sum. The portions were generous. Definitely will come again. Thank you for the great service!

The food is ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ the atmosphere is ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, the price is The service is not at the level of a traditional Chinese restaurant — it’s more of a modern service, which is reasonable given its concept and price range. However, if they’re not too busy, you can ask them for help — such as changing the plates, clearing the table for dessert, reminding them to serve dessert after the meal, or helping to portion and cut the noodles. They’ll be happy to assist you. So . The drinks and desserts are on the sweeter side. You may request for less sugar if you’re not a fan of sweet flavours. Mr. Bryan & Miss Yip done a very good job and attentive.

The yingyong noodle is superb, forgive me for forgetting to get a photo for that. Truffle dumpling is so so, but if you like shrimp and scallop, that might be a different story. Sze Chuan dumpling in term of look is oustanding, taste reasonable while the fun is 4.5/5. Crispy Avocado, well, i ordered this as i've yet to see this on menu anywhere. It's unique for this eatery, the fun is after getting the first bite, it leaks from the opposite side, yes, u know what im thinking, funny thought though. I'm still recommending this for experience. Bye.
